Lauren Conrad received a lot of criticism for her fashion line at the 2008 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles this year.  But that hasn’t discouraged the reality star.  With a hit MTV show called The Hills, and tons of experience with fashion under her belt as an intern with Teen Vogue, Lauren knows she has it in her. 

“I actually thought that I had messed up. I was sending looks out and they were kind of untucked and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, it looked terrible,’ and I went out and did my wave and walked backstage and I just broke into tears and I was like, ‘Oh my God, it was so bad!’ … I ended up seeing it (later on tape) and I was like, ‘OK, it was fine, it was fine.” 

This week Lauren flew across the country to promote the line at the Holt Renfrew in Toronto today.  She’s looking gorgeous in a purple and black strapless dress.  If you’ve ever seen Lauren’s clothing line, you’d never think she would wear it because it’s so plain.  If she were to include cutesy outfits like the dresses that she wears every day, then I’d be going crazy for it!  But for right now it’s just basic pieces you can find at your local Target for much much cheaper (some of Lauren’s clothing is priced over $300!!).
