Hilary Duff chats inside of the May 2008 issue of Allure magazine about her old feud with Lindsay and her tender relationship with ex-boyfriend Joel Madden. I find it really interesting that interviewers keep asking the same questions. Maybe it’s because Hilary has only had a few bits of interesting information around her the whole time she’s been in the spotlight, so those are the only headlines that will sell magazines for her.

Hilary has been known for her reputation as a good girl, but she doesn’t let that bother her.

I’m not a perfect, prude girl. I like to do normal things that 20 year-olds do, but…I don’t want that attention. If I can’t get any from what I’m doing now, I’ll figure out a different plan.

Even with her squeaky clean record, Hilary isn’t going to let those teeny-bopper fans hold her back from doing more adult and controversial roles.

I don’t want to restrict myself from doing things that stimulate me just to make them happy…if they continue liking me, that’s cool, but I don’t want to cater to them. I’m not 13, 14, or 15 anymore.

Hilary talked about her former relationship with front singer Joel Madden of the band Good Charlotte, admitting that it might have been a bit strange (she was 15 at the time, he was 24).

He was never nervous, like, ‘I could get arrested. [She admits] It looked bad.

But through it all, Hilary has tried to keep her priorities in straight and not let her life become all about the glamor and the must have’s of the moment.

I don’t think I ever looked sick, but I really watched what I ate. You lose touch when you’re so obsessed.

I’m not good at loving the red carpet and knowing how to pose the way you’re supposed to.
