Lauren Conrad wore a cute red dress with open toed black pumps while attending the Ninth Annual Paws For Style Fashion Show at Area in New York City, New York on Tuesday. Put on for the Humane Society and Animal Fair magazine, this dog-fashion show was designed to benefit charity. Celebrities were to coordinate with their dogs and walk down the runway. After the fashion show the clothes will be sold on eBay and donated to a charity cause.

However at the end of the day, LC wasn’t really that into it. Announcer for the show Robert Verdi announced that Lauren had decided she would not walk down the runway after all.

“She’s on The Hills,” he said. “And she’s not coming out. You don’t want to believe the shit that happens with these girls. Anyway, that was it! Thanks for your support!”

The crowd was very disappointed as they paid $100 to $5,000 for tickets to the puppy fashion show. When reporters tried to get Lauren to comment on what happened she refused to answer and one PR person offered “She has a bit of an attitude” as an explanation.

Wendy Diamond, editor in chief of “Animal Fair” magazine, was clearly annoyed with Lauren and was particularly ticked because she invited LC herself.

“Her publicist didn’t tell her it was a fashion show,” Diamond said. “That’s what she said. I just think it’s really rude. [The Humane Society] spent probably $10,000 in bringing her here. If you’re going to fly here first-class and get a suite at a hotel for you and your assistant, then that’s what you deal with. There’s no cats here, so we didn’t need any catfights.”

And get this – Lauren is also the cover girl for this month’s “Animal Fair” magazine! She posed with her puppy Chloe but refused to walk down the runway with her puppy at an event hosted by the magazine to benefit charity!

“I personally don’t care about Lauren Conrad nor The Hills show — never watched it,” Diamond said, sighing. “I’m disappointed for the animals.”

While she may be a dog lover, Lauren’s fashion line at the celebrity hip Kitson Boutique hasn’t been fairing so well and was pulled from the shelves after due to a “lackluster” performance.

“Initially it was great. They need to realize it’s no different than selling your album, your TV shows, your movies. You have to keep promoting it.”
