Alicia Keys worked with John Mayer, whom most considered to be an odd collaboration, on her last record (specifically her single “No One”), and is looking to mix it up again with her next album.
The soul singer is looking to work with the rock and roll group The White Stripes and have already begun discussing.
“We’ve had some conversations. When the time works out, and it definitely will, it will happen.”
And why the White Stripes? Apparently Alicia is into more than just blues and soul!
“They’re very raw, very cut and dry. It’s, like, drums and guitar. It’s that simple, and I love that. I think that combining that style with mine, which already has a raw feel to it, and my voice, I just think we could do something really interesting that mixes rock and soul together, the blues and emotion, and it could be really touching.”
This could be an interesting collaboration. The White Stripes are one of my favorite bands!
Alicia Keys showed us her curves while on stage during her “As I Am” tour at the Staples center in Los Angeles, California on Monday night. The singer wore a hip hugging white outfit while prancing around in sparkling platform shoes. During slow songs a smoke machine kicked in the set the mood.

I know I just did a post about Alicia Keys but the girl is EVERYWHERE promoting her music! Alicia Keys had a pretty busy day on Tuesday. After stopping by “The Late Show With David Letterman”, Alicia headed over to MTV’s Total Request Live Studios in Times Square to talk music. She was sporting an orange looking with rock star shades and brown pumps.

Alicia Keys arrived at “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Wednesday and had all the fans looking. She was dressed in a skin tight mini gray dress and black and silver stilettos. Check out the guy to the left of Alicia holding the camera…we know what HE’s looking at.

Alicia Keys is the second singer who has come down the a vocal illness this week. American Idol singer Jordin Sparks is currently battling a “career threatening” vocal illness as well.
Alicia was forced to cancel two concerts while on her “Lexus Presents Alicia Keys As I Am” tour which kicked off Aril 19th.
Alicia Keys has been forced to pull the plug on a second concert – Thursday night at Cleveland’s Wolstein Center – “due to a continued bout with swollen vocal chords,” her record label, J Records, announced late Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, Keys, 27, canceled a Tuesday night concert in Pittsburgh. But the native New Yorker is slated to return to the stage this weekend in Ohio. “Keys, who is currently being treated by a physician, is expected to return to the stage on Saturday … in Columbus,” said J Records, which described the setback as a “vocal illness.”
Sounds like some sickness is going around in the vocal community. Hopefully this isn’t serious and she’ll bounce right back!
